What is Form 26AS?

The main purpose of Form 26AS is to:

Information Included in Form 26AS

Form 26AS contains the following details:

  1. Personal Details:

    • PAN, Name, and Address of the taxpayer.

  2. Tax Deducted at Source (TDS):

    • TDS deducted by your employer, bank, or other entities on income such as salary, interest, or rent.

  3. Tax Collected at Source (TCS):

    • TCS details on transactions like sale of goods, motor vehicles, etc.

  4. Advance Tax / Self-Assessment Tax:

    • Details of taxes paid directly by the taxpayer during the year.

  5. Refunds:

    • Information about refunds issued by the Income Tax Department.

  6. High-Value Transactions (AIR/SFT):

  • Income Tax e-Filing Login ID & Password

Step-by-Step Process to View Form 26AS

Step 1: Visit Govt Site.
Step 2: Log in using your PAN (User ID) and Password.
Step 3: Click on “e-File” → “Income Tax Forms” → “View Form 26AS.”
Step 4: You will be redirected to the TRACES portal.
Step 5: Choose the Assessment Year and “View / Download as PDF or HTML.”
Step 6: Verify all TDS, TCS, Advance Tax, and Refund details.
