The KSB Marriage Grant is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (Ministry of Defence, Government of India).
This grant is provided to Ex-Servicemen (ESM), widows of deceased ESM, and their daughters to assist with marriage-related expenses.
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial relief and social support to economically weaker ESM families, ensuring that no ex-serviceman’s dependent daughter faces hardship at the time of marriage.
The applicant must be an Ex-Serviceman (ESM) or widow of an ESM.
The marriage must be of the daughter of ESM or widow (including step or adopted daughter, if legally adopted).
The ESM/widow’s family income should not exceed the prescribed limit (as per KSB norms, generally ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 per month — subject to updates).
The marriage must have taken place after the date of discharge of the ESM.
The ESM must be registered with the Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) concerned.
Only one grant per daughter is admissible; the grant cannot be claimed for remarriage.
The KSB Marriage Grant provides a one-time financial assistance of ₹50,000 (amount may vary as per the latest government order).
The payment is made directly through ECS/NEFT to the beneficiary’s bank account after verification and approval.
