What is KSB Medical Disability Grant?

The KSB Medical Disability Grant is a welfare scheme run by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
It provides financial assistance to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) or their widows/dependents who are suffering from a permanent or partial disability, either attributable to military service or acquired after retirement due to illness or accident.

Eligibility Criteria for KSB Medical Disability Grant

1. Applicant must be an Ex-Serviceman (ESM) or widow/dependent of a deceased ESM.

2. The ESM must be registered with the Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) concerned.

3. The disability should be 40% or more, certified by a competent medical authority.

4. The disability may be:

   • Service-related (attributable or aggravated by military service), or

   • Non-service-related but causing permanent handicap or loss of earning ability.

5. The applicant’s monthly income should be within KSB’s prescribed limit (usually ₹8,000–₹10,000 per month).

6. The assistance is one-time for each eligible case.

Amount of Financial Assistance

The KSB Medical Disability Grant provides a one-time financial aid of ₹50,000 (subject to revision as per KSB policy) to eligible Ex-Servicemen or their widows/dependents.
The grant amount is directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account through NEFT/ECS after approval.

➡ Step 1: Visit the nearest Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) and collect or download the Application Form from Govt Site.
➡ Step 2: Fill in all required details of the ESM / widow / dependent and disability details.
