The KSB Mobility Equipment Grant is a welfare initiative by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. This scheme is designed to support disabled Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and their dependents by providing financial assistance for purchasing mobility aids and assistive devices.
The primary objective of this grant is to help physically challenged veterans regain independence and self-reliance, thereby improving their quality of life. The grant ensures that ESM who have lost mobility due to service-related injuries or post-service disabilities can access essential aids like wheelchairs, tricycles, artificial limbs, crutches, or walking sticks.
This assistance is provided as a one-time monetary grant, directly transferred to the applicant’s bank account via NEFT/DBT, after verification and approval through the official chain of Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) → Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) → Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB).
The scheme reflects the Government’s continued commitment to ensuring dignity, care, and support for those who have served the nation and now require physical rehabilitation.
Applicant must be an Ex-Serviceman (ESM) or a dependent suffering from physical disability.
The disability should be certified by a Government Medical Board or Military Hospital (usually 40% or more).
